The former team members of MVP Phoenix have reunited as Team Phoenix recently.
Team Phoenix has now joined the Immortals banner which is an eSports franchise based in Los Angeles, United States.
The move is a huge blow for the thriving Southeast Asia region in Dota 2 which has seen a recent resurgent with Philippines outfits leading the way, especially with decent the decent turnout at The International 2017.
While MVP Phoenix was based in South Korean, it was parked under SEA as Valve recognises only six regions in the game to date.
There is yet to be a specific region for Asia at large. The other region in this part of the world is China, which boasts a huge community itself consisting of about a dozen of top professional teams.
To recap, the lineup consists of “DuBu” Kim Doo-young, “Forev” Lee Sang-don, “QO” Kim Seon-yeob, “Febby” Kim Yong-min and “MP” Pyo No-a.
Immortals will be competing with Dota 2 giants such as Evil Geniuses and Digital Chaos along with the likes of VGJ.Storm, compLexity Gaming, and The Dire in the region.
